Yesterday, my niece Madison had her first birthday party at my sister and brother-in-laws house. When I walked in, the smell of turkey, cheesy potatoes and confetti cake filled the air. Kids were running around playing with toys. The house was full of people and there was never a dull or quiet moment.
Madi was deathly afraid of the cake. We don't know why. My sister put a candle in her CareBear cake, lit it, and put it in front of her. She was fine with the candle being lit, but when it was blown out and when she touched the cake, she screamed and cried. I felt so bad.
After the cake feasting was over, she opened her presents. She ended up getting a lot of neat stuff. She got clothes, toys, books, a picture frame, and a Precious Moments 1 year birthday knick knack.
Overall, it was a good party. Everyone had a lot of fun and hopefully next year she won't be afraid of the cake.

Oh Megan, I remember all my kid's first birthday. I think they are fun and what a wonderful day to celebrate with family and friends. Kids do the funniest things. My first child totally demolished his cake when we wanted to take a picture of him and the cake. I love kids birthdays because I like all the laughter and fun and food. Have a great week, Megan.
